We've been longing to knit this iconic sweater by Midori Hirose with one of our yarns for a long time now, and it seemed that Bottoni was somehow made for this!

In fact, this yarn has the perfect lightness and texture for cable knitting, rustic and soft, it fills the stitches beautifully after washing... and it's true when Midori says that the final sweater turns out much lighter than an usual cabled jumperof this kind.

The pattern is worked seamlessly from the top down, and the different cabled and textuerd sections make it so pleasant to follow all the way through.

4 (4, 4, 4) (4, 4, 5, 5)(5, 6, 7, 8) skeins of BOTTONI DK (100% italian wool from Brogna, Sambucana and Moretta breeds) - 100g / 230m per skein 

shown in colorway Bosco.

Needles

2 main circular needles and 1 smaller circular needle. 

6 mm / US 10 / JP 13 as main needle,

5 mm / US 8 /JP 10 as smaller needle for neck, hem and cuff. 

Adjust needle size if necessary to get gauge.

Gauge

15 sts x 23 rows = 10 cm /4”, with main needle in stockinette stitch after wet blocking.
