WATERBIRCH SHAWL

A Pure & Simple Wool MEGA

100% Aquilana wool

worsted weight with 100g – 180m

Description

This pattern was firstly inserted in one of the charming ebooks by Sylvia McFadden - A Stillness of Trees - that was shot out at Porteau Cove on Winter Solstice. The shortest day of the year traces also the time when the light starts to return.

Water Birch is named for it’s waves, but also for it’s stability. Roots grow deeper when trees experience hard times. A metaphor to come back to often in hard times, and we strongly agree with the designer's thought.

We knitted our version with A Pure & Simple Wool MEGA, a bit lighter than the yarn originally used, but yet chunky enough to make a super cosy heavy weight lace we adore.
