Our Advent Calendar for this year is truly special for us.
It's deeply connected to a brand new base we've been trying to produce in the last 2 years and finally it's a dream coming true. It is with hearts full of joy and trembling hands that we finally introduce you to:
LUNARIS
a special yarn made with our heart to take you to the moon
78% French mohair
22% Schappe silk
Lace weight
50gr - 500m
When we thought of a name for this precious, ethereal, light and luminous yarn, we immediately imagined stars, planets and galaxies.
But what ultimately led us to choose this particular name was the colour, the shine and the desire to take you with us on this wonderful journey to the moon.
The idea we are trying to convey with this calendar is that of a journey of the mind and heart, which does not require timetables or roads, a journey that we sometimes need to take to rediscover the dreams we hold inside, to nurture them and ensure that they occasionally reawaken and accompany us through difficult times, reminding us that in that space of ours that opens up when we knit absorbedly, there can be an entire galaxy waiting to welcome us.
So the whole theme we created for this Advent is focused around this dreamy base.
We teamed up with Melanie Berg to design a gorgeous shawl to knit with an array of shades we hand dyed for this mood, and you'll find both printed and digital instructions to knit it along the advent days.
Also, we inserted a bunch of dedicated add ons we curated with Agnese of Agnes Ceramics, with Alice of Lunaria Candles and with Cecile of Atelier Camelir to make this bundle a charming journey through the outers space, to the moon and back.

We recommend that all yarn is washed by hand. This ensures it’ll be beautiful for as long as possible and will wear well. When you’ve finished your project, dunk it in a sink of lukewarm water – with a no rinse wool wash if that takes your fancy, leave it to saturate for a while, then roll it up in a towel to squeeze out excess water and pin out flat to dry.
As with all textiles and all yarn, sometimes colour can come out. It can be caused by a difference in the water ph used to wash the item, detergents, or an over-saturation of dye that hasn’t quite finished rinsing out.
All of our hand dyed yarn is rinsed by hand in the sink, and each batch is soaked, then individual skeins are rinsed to make sure no colour bleeds. This isn’t foolproof though, and occasionally skeins in darker colours can bleed a little. In case it happens simply put your yarn or finished item in a pan (that you won’t use for food), add water and a generous glug or vinegar or citric acid, and then slowly bring up to heat. It should be simmering but not boiling. Then turn the heat off, put a lid on the pan, and leave it – ideally overnight. You should find that the water is now clear, and all that remains is to rinse your yarn. If the water isn’t quite clear, rinse it anyway – much like with hair dye, there can be excess dye which needs to run off.
