Description

We met Sari Nordlund at Barcelona Knits Festival and it was such a pleasure to chat of all woolly things with her!

So when we saw this awesome projects she designed  in A Pure and Simple Wool, we were over the moon.

This pullover has an unusual construction starting from the back and then adding seamlessly the shoulders and then the front parts afterwards;  once you've joined the front and back you'll proceed in the round.

All cables and structures that you see are repeated throughout the different parts of the pullover and charted, so quite easy to follow.

Please note the the pattern requires a strand of silk-mohair added to our yarn

The original sample is knitted in LATTE, the undyed base of Pure&Simple, while for ours we chose SALVIA paired with the magnificent Silky Shadow  in colorway SWAMP hand dyed by Francesco Dark Omen Yarn

Note: Please be aware that adjusting the lengths of the garment will also affect the amount of yarn needed to finish the project.

YARN

A Pure And Simple Wool - 100% wool; 300 m / 328 yards per 100g: 4 (5, 5, 6, 6) (7, 7, 8, 9) skeins 

or 1180 (1300, 1430, 1570, 1720) (1900, 2090, 2290, 2520) m / 1290 (1420, 1560, 1710, 1890) (2070, 2280, 2510, 2760) yards of similar sport weight yarn, 

and

Dark Omen  Silky Mohair -75% mohair, 25% bombix silk - 420m / 459 yards per 50 g: 3 (3, 3, 4, 5) (5, 5, 6, 7) skeins 

or 1180 (1300, 1430, 1570, 1720) (1900, 2090, 2290, 2520) m / 1290 (1420, 1560, 1710, 1890) (2070, 2280, 2510, 2760) yards of similar lace weight yarn.

NEEDLES

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches for the neck ribbing

3.5 mm / US 4 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting for the cuffs

3.5 mm / US 4 circular needles with a cable of at least 80 cm / 32 inches for the hem

4 mm / US 6 DPNs or circular needles with a cable suitable for small circumference knitting for the sleeves

4 mm / US 6 circular needles with a cable of 40 cm / 16 inches for the top of the yoke

4 mm / US 6 circular needles with a cable of at least 80 cm / 32 inches for the body

GAUGE

20 sts and 26 rows = 10 cm / 4 inches of moss stitch and charted pattern on larger needles, after blocking
